Save Fremont History Before it’s Too Late
The Harvey Houses at Sylvester P. Harvey Community Park are facing uncertain futures. The City is considering demolishing the George Harvey House, built in 1928, while the historic Sylvester P. Harvey House, built in 1868, could be mothballed and closed off for an extended period.

Why the Harvey Houses Matter
Together, the Harvey Houses are surviving connections to the Harvey family, Washington Township’s agricultural past, and the history of the community that existed long before Fremont became the city we know today.
The Washington Township Museum of Local History is asking that preservation alternatives be fully considered before decisions affecting these historic properties become irreversible.
