Guide to Mormon Historical Sites in Washington Township, Alameda County

By Lorin K. Hansen

The landing of the ship Brooklyn at Yerba Buena, San Francisco Bay, in July 1846 was the beginning of the Mormon settlement story in Washington Township. Several passengers on the ship settled in what is now the Tri-City area of Fremont, Newark and Union City. Many historic markers and sites relating to the early Mormon settlers are highlighted and discussed in this booklet. (66 pages)
